On Episode 167 on the Tailgate Guys BBQ Podcast, we take a trip to the eastern portion of the USA to go “Under the Radar” with another up-and-coming competition pitmaster. Chris Jackson’s day job is with the West Virginia State Police and in his spare time he and wife Erica compete (and do catering) as Convicted Pigs BBQ based in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Chris tells us about his background in law enforcement and BBQ and how he got started in each - plus how cooking is a great outlet from what often is a high-stress job.
It’s also time for the June edition of “Fergie Time” as Richard Fergola of Fergolicious BBQ catches us up on the latest in his world. It’s been a busy world with no signs of slowing down for Richard, who’s been on a role on the competition circuit with a recent Grand Championship and Reserve Grand at a doubleheader in Greeley, Colorado, plus a couple of other top-10s in the last month. Richard also offers up some early advice for those planning 4th of July weekend cooks in the backyard. So take a listen to the always entertaining “Fergie.”
The co-hosts also recap their Father’s Day Weekend cooking adventures and take a lap around the sports world. This marks 321 shows over the last six years, combining local radio with podcast. Thanks to all the listeners who have made this passion of ours possible.
